Steadyhand starts where you are, and makes digital operations easy.

We walk in lock-step with you between office, floor and field, and help you save time by rethinking fragmented operations problems into practical, job-ready solutions.

In particular, we support regional Western Australian trade businesses and organisations who want to build:

  • stronger, safer workmanship cultures across teams

  • more operational stability and data-driven decision-making

  • better profitability in early (0-5 years), mature (5-30+ years) and legacy transitions

  • personal wellbeing, life balance and real community capabilities

Started by people who’ve both run operations in the trade sector and work as versatile digital specialists, Steadyhand helps people across generations grow and improve by using digital tools, best-practice methods and systems-thinking. Unlike other digital services aimed at trades, our place-based approach means our specialists also live and work in the same regional communities that you do.

These days, we routinely get asked to assist trade businesses to deliver a growing list of services

Where we really excel is in combining these services in our signature, personalised Steadyhand operations plans. Contact us today for a free 30-min consultation to find the plan most suited to you.

Steadyhand oversaw a structural transformation in operations for my business over a six month period from July 2025 to January 2026. That transformation took Margaret River Re-Gutters from a solid owner-operator-run business with two-to-three sub-contractors toward a steaming small business with two teams of three workers. Part of that transformation involved launching a sister company, Busselton Re-Gutters, according to the scaling and value-capture goals we co-designed together.

From the get-go, Steadyhand developed sensitive ways of creating processes from the ground up across worksites, office and client comms, but they were also great at recognising and supporting my intuitions as an owner-operator going through a period of change.

Setting new goals in business is always a wild ride, but the roadmap Steadyhand confidently designed and implemented for us - including staged release and testing of our custom CRM-build with Monday.com, CPQ and sales funnel build-out, scheduling and briefing tools for site operations, compliance measures and documentation, performance analytics, print and digital marketing campaigns, and more - meant the ride was controlled, data-driven and milestoned along the way. Not only did we achieve our ROI expectations, but I was able to come at my business from a new perspective, less on the tools and more in a position of strategic leadership over the direction and feel of our services.

I recommend Steadyhand wholeheartedly as digital operations professionals.

Mapping the Digital Transition in the Australian Small Trades Sector

The Facts

The Barriers

The Benefits

As of 2026, Australian trade business are still slow to commit to digital transitions. Data available from the shareholder reports of industry leaders show:

  • Less than ~ 19% of small trade businesses in Australia make use of comprehensive tools like CRMs to handle daily operations

  • 58% use generic software like Microsoft Word for their core admin

  • 28% use pen and paper alone for their core admin

  • A mere 8% of sole traders, who make up approx. two-thirds of all trade businesses, use specialised job management software

The three most common barriers to switching to digital operations reported by trade businesses owners are:

  • Lack of in-house skills to develop effective work management systems

  • Uncertainty of the potential benefits

  • Perception of high up-front investment costs

Owner-operators and small trade business owners who adopt digital job management systems gain strong advantages in the current market, such as:

  • Revenue growth (more leads, higher conversion, new channels)

  • Efficiency gains (less admin time, fewer errors)

  • More productive organisational flows

  • Better cash flow management

  • Fewer communication breakdowns

  • Higher worker satisfaction and up-skilling rates

  • More roaming freedom for owner-operators

  • Clearer hand-offs and delegations
